Dear brothers in Christ's service, Greetings in his name who loves us and offered his life for the salvation of us 'sinners'. May his name be praised and glorified in whatever we do in this world in order to build up his kingdom. Brothers, as you are meeting August 15-26 1989 you will be confronted with the world's problems, the problems facing the Christian communities all over the world: political oppression, hunger and wars, where relief becomes part of political system! I hope you will have courage to continue this meeting with the power of the Holy Spirit. As the prophet Micah said "But as for me, the Lord fills me with his spirit and power, and gives me a sense of justice and the courage to tell the people of Israel what their sins are" (Mic 3.8-11 ). Therefore we who are absent in body are present with you in the spirit of prayer. May the Lord guide you and give you wisdom. He will bless you while you meet and afterwards continue his service in this world. Amen. Rev John Gatluok, moderator
