In many Alliance member churches you will find a uniformed organization for children and youth - typically the Boys' Brigade or the Boys' and Girls' Brigade.

These organizations are members of the World Conference, founded in Glasgow in 1883.

The World Conference is a truly ecumenical Christian youth organization, with links to many different denominations. The Boys' Brigade in the United Kingdom is its oldest affiliate, but today it has member organizations in more than 60 countries.

As of 2002, the World Conference will change its name to Global Fellowship of Christian Youth - or just Global Fellowship.

The object of Global Fellowship is "the advancement of Christ's kingdom, the promotion of education, and the relief of poverty amongst the youth of the world, by serving and supporting member organizations".

Global Fellowship invites into membership organizations that work on a national or subnational level. A local youth group would not normally fit in, unless it has the intention and potential to develop further. The organizations are all uniformed, or share another recognizable corporate identity.

Locally, the member organizations provide activities aiming to develop children and young people socially, spiritually and physically.

Activities such as leader training, exchange programmes, study visits, financial support for poorer member organizations, and international youth events are carried out either globally or by one of the ten regional fellowships, such as the west African or European fellowship.

There may be member churches of WARC that do not already have organized youth activities. The World Conference/Global Fellowship warmly invites them to discuss with us the possibilities. Likewise Global Fellowship wishes to be in good contact with WARC and its member churches in order to promote liaison and mutual assistance in relation to existing youth organizations that belong to both the WARC family and the Global Fellowship family.
