the future that inspires you to dream new dreams
in the midst of old dreams
the future that challenges you to take new steps
for all the steps that have been taken
the future that invites you to venture new frontiers
despite many frontiers that have been ventured
and the future that urges you to move forward
resisting the forces to move backward.

For the World Alliance of Reformed Churches
this day is also the future
the future heavy with 125 years of history
the future remembered with achievements of bygone days
the future burdened with past claims
the future that must at all times sail against the tide
of the ecumenism of the present.

For you and for us all
this day is the future
Our task is hard and our way is long
but God is our refuge and our strength.

Our work is arduous and our goal is far
but Jesus is our light and our guide.

For you and for all of us
this day is the future
Pilgrims all we are
pioneers we all must be
the Spirit is our helper and our comforter.

Let us together make the Alliance truly
the Alliance of 215 member churches
the Alliance of 75 million sisters and brothers
Let us always renew the Alliance
to serve women and men
to energize young and old
to strengthen the weak and the dispossessed
