UgandaThe evangelism and Aids awareness programme of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Uganda started in 1999. It approaches the problem of Aids in a biblical perspective through open-air meetings in villages and schools deep in the countryside, but also includes educational institutions and universities. A qualified team of educators, counsellors, technicians and pastors communicates through preaching and counselling with the crowds which usually attend those meetings. The church works in cooperation with other church agencies and the government. To enable the team to reach the rural population, a van, a public address system, a music keyboard and a generator were purchased. The Reformed churches partnership fund contributed towards this programme, which is part of the church's five-year programme from 1999 to 2003. The project operates in the central, eastern, western and northern regions of Uganda. Karin Wisniewski, Reformed churches partnership fund
