    Resources for study and discussion

    Several resources to encourage participation in the gathering process are already available.

    If you have other resources to suggest or a contribution to offer, please write to us.

    Crossing ten seas

    A magazine-format illustrated resource containing 14 studies from around the world on issues related to the theme "That All may have Life in Fullness". Each study tells a story, offers a short theological reflection and asks questions for discussion. It is intended for use in congregations. Available in English, French, German and Spanish.

    Christian education outlines

    An adaptable set of 14 outlines based on life-related issue facing the Reformed family of churches today. Each outline identifies scripture for Bible study and suggests questions, activities and commitments for six age groups, ranging from four years of age through adult. It is intended for adaptation by Christian education offices. Available in English, French, German and Spanish.

    Accra study book and Bible studies

    This resource for member churches and council participants examines:

    • threats and challenges to life today, informing our understanding of global concerns and encouraging connections between global and local issues;
    • fullness of life for all, inspiring biblical and theological reflection on the theme by engaging our faith;
    • visions for the church, considering God's will for our response through worship, common mission and covenanting for justice in the economy and the earth; and
    • Bible studies, focusing on the story of Ruth.

    It was published in October 2003 in English, French, German and Spanish.

    General council worship book

    Designed for use in the daily worship services to be held in Accra, the publication is a collection of liturgies from around the world each responding to specific threats and challenges to life. It will be published in late 2003 in English, French, German and Spanish.

    From Debrecen to Accra

    An interpretative history of the work of the Alliance since the 23rd general council (Debrecen 1997) as well as a vision for the Alliance beyond 2004. It points to the significance of what has been accomplished and seeks to stimulate reflection on the direction in which Accra mandates could be developed. It will be published in January 2004 in English, French, German and Spanish.
